Permitted Campervan Travel Times On The North Coast 500 This Week

NC500 Camper RulesCamper vana & motorhomes are now restricted from travelling on certain roads at specific times on the North coast 500, As from Monday 3rd of August the permitted travelling times for Campervans, caravenettes & motorhomes to be travelling on the NC 500 for this week beginning Monday 3rd of August. There is a  one-way system in effect along the North Coast 500 therfore  going round the route in an anti-clockwise direction is not advised and goes against Scottish Government guidance.

The Times you can drive on restricted roads anlong the NC500 as advised by Scottish government

  • Scourie to Durness Section 0800-0930, 1700-1900
  • Garve to Lochcarron Section 0600-0800, 1900-2130
  • Lochinver to Kylesku Section 0400-0730, 1900-2300
  • Shieldaig to Kinlochewe Section 0630-0830, 1830-2030

Campervan One way systemYou can travel on all other sections on the North Coast 500 24hrs a day this week except for the Wick to Helmsdale route which has no campervan, motorhome travel allowed between the hours of 10am -1.30pm this is in effect every Tuesday and Thursday until further notice. If you have to travel outwith any of these times then please ensure you have a passport, proof of address and certification of safely disposing of your chemical toilet at one of the three approved decanting points in Ullapool, Melvich or Dornoch.
