North Coast 500 Business Description

Inverewe Gardens

These luscious gardens are part of the National Trust for Scotland property and are often described as one of the most beautiful gardens in Scotland, and definitely a must see while on The North Coast 500.

The gardens are set on the edge of Loch Ewe, with historic botanical gardens that are full of exotic plants from all over the world.

The gardends in Inverewe were first started around 1862 with mainly rock and scrub willows but now has some amazing plants to see such as blue poppies, rare Wollemi pines, New Zealand olearia and rhododendrons from as far reaching as China and Nepal; testament to what can be created with a little imagination.

As well as all the beautiful plants and flowers, nature lovers should keep a close eye on the shores of the loch where they may catch a glimpse of some local wildlife that thrive in the area like wading birds, pine marten and otters.
